KISD Names Tom Daniels Elementary Principal

Jan. 22, 2024 – The KISD Board of Trustees approved the hiring of Katie Miller as the next principal of Tom Daniels Elementary School during a regular meeting Monday night.

Miller joins KISD from Boerne ISD, where she has served as an Assistant Principal for the past two and a half years, and will begin her duties in KISD on Monday, January 29.

“We are excited to welcome Mrs. Miller to the KISD and Tom Daniels families,” said Brent Ringo, Superintendent. “Tom Daniels Elementary has a strong history built on Mustang pride, and Mrs. Miller brings unwavering dedication, innovative leadership, and a genuine commitment to the success of all students. Her leadership will continue the Mustang tradition of working for success.”

Miller holds a Master of Education degree from Schreiner University, where she also received her undergrad degree. She started teaching in Fredericksburg ISD, then joined Boerne ISD as a teacher and interventionist before serving as an assistant principal at Herff Elementary in BISD. She met with Tom Daniels staff earlier today.

“I feel honored and privileged to have the opportunity to serve as the next proud principal of Tom Daniels Elementary,” Miller said. “I cannot wait to meet the amazing students and families who make Daniels the place to be. I’m thrilled to continue the greatness and traditions of Daniels Elementary and Kerrville ISD.”

Miller is married to Hunter Miller, Challenge Lab and STEM Teacher at Tally Elementary.

She will take over principal duties from Jeremy Green, who has served as interim principal since the retirement of longtime Daniels principal Amy Billeiter, who retired at the end of the previous school year.

KISD and I thank Mr. Green for his commendable leadership as interim principal since the start of the current school year,” Dr. Ringo said. “His steadfast guidance has offered stability and unwavering support to our Daniels staff and students. We know the Special Education Department will be happy to have him return as their assistant director.”
