Kerrville, TX (April 1, 2022) – Kerrville ISD is the proud recipient of several special needs adaptive trikes given through the Believe It Foundation.
Students at our Early Childhood Center got their first rides on the trikes Friday morning and gleeful squeals and giggles of excitement ensued.
The bikes were provided through the Believe It Foundation, along with an anonymous donor. The donation of $55,000 funded 12 adaptive trikes in total, including a tandem bike for use with vision-impaired students and two full size Adaptive Trikes to assist with Middle school and High School vocational programs.
William McGinnis, Believe It Coordinator and Tivy High School ’04 graduate, coordinated with Stephanie Drake-Woods, KISD Occupational Therapist and Dr. Vickie Stuart, KISD Physical Therapist, to customize each adaptive trike to fit specific orthopedic and neurologic positioning needs of KISD students. More than 50 students will benefit from these bikes.
The bikes were delivered to KISD last week, fully assembled, all the way from the manufacturer in Canada.
KISD is grateful to the Believe It Foundation and our anonymous donor for these trikes.
