Board Single Member Redistricting 2021
School Board Trustee 2021 Redistricting
On January 24, 2022, the KISD Board of Trustees unanimously approved and adopted new Trustee Single Member District Boundary Lines. These new lines will take effect immediately. Each trustee will remain until the end of their current term.
On January 6, 2022 the Kerrville ISD accepted an initial assessment of the 2020 Census Data from the firm Bickerstaff Heath Delgado Acosta LLP that illustrated the need to redistrict the Trustee Single Member Districts in order to meet Federal Voting Rights and State Election Laws. The KISD Board also approved two resolutions that provide criteria and guidelines for the redistricting process. The Board opened a Public Hearing during the meeting and considered proposals that would bring the Trustee Single Member Districts into compliance with Federal and State Laws. There was consensus on one proposal (Plan 1) at the conclusion of the Public Hearing and Special Meeting.
The district hosted a community meeting at Tivy Administration Building on Wednesday, January 19, 2022 to answer questions and receive comments on the SMD Redistricting Proposal.
