Brent Ringo, Ed.D
Dr. Brent Ringo was named the Kerrville ISD Superintendent of Schools in April 2023. Dr. Ringo comes to KISD from the Garland Independent School District, where he served as the Chief Financial Officer, leading three assistant superintendents, six executive directors, and supported 54,000 students with 71 campuses. During his tenure, the district excelled to new academic heights: The College, Career, and Military Readiness (CCMR) score increased to one of the highest scores in Texas (exceeded the state average by 14%), selected as one of Texas’s Top Five 2023 Outstanding School Districts from H-E-B’s Excellence in Education Program, and recognized as one of the largest Google Reference districts in the United States.
Dr. Ringo has served as classroom teacher, coach, algebra I team leader, assistant principal, associate principal, high school principal, director, executive director and assistant superintendent. He focuses on developing exceptional teams dedicated to student achievement through innovative programs, engagement from families and the surrounding community, as well as professional development opportunities for faculty and staff.
He also serves on the Board for the Texas Association of School Business Officials, Upper Guadalupe River Authority, the Texhillco Federal Credit Union, and is becoming a member of the Kerrville Rotary.
Educationally, Dr. Ringo earned his doctorate in Educational Administration with a minor in Statistics from Texas A&M University-Commerce. His dissertation analyzed equity in school funding for Texas Public School Districts. He completed his master’s degree in Educational Administration at Texas State University-San Marcos, and for his undergraduate degree he attended the United States Military Academy at West Point and the University of Texas at Austin.
He and his wife Kristin have three children; Brody (9), Kyle (7), and Kaylee (3). Two of their children are school age and will attend KISD schools.
