I grew up in Hunt Texas and spent most of my childhood playing outdoors and playing sports. I spent a lot of time in and around the river. I started out like most children with a stern dislike for school. My dislike grew so much that it landed me in the special education program at my local elementary school.
I had two different special education teachers. The second teacher had an impact on my life. He taught me that teaching can be done in different ways and that you are always learning. I found myself starting to lose my dislike of school and began learning everything I could from this teacher. I ended up out of the SPED program and in regular classes. After graduating high school, I realized that I needed to give back to the students who are just like me and who might need that different approach.
I have been working with children of all ages for about 25 years and it is something that I take very seriously. My passion is coaching. I love to see those students who did not think they could do something, learn how to do it, then they master it. Then you get to see that look of pride on their faces when all their hard work has paid off!
