Hello Spikes!

My name is Carrie Nowak and I will be the dyslexia teacher. I am a graduate of Texas A&M University and this will be my 15th year in education. Whoop! I am so excited to be a part of Hal Peterson. I am looking forward to helping our students grow, not only in reading and writing, but also in being critical thinkers and effective communicators. I have always had a passion for education. I started my first job creating tests for my siblings and giving them some beautifully graded work back.  :)  It was just the beginning of my dream career. I have taught special education, ESL for newcomer and sheltered students, reading, writing, and a few co-teach classes in between.  I am looking forward to a wonderful year full of discovery, reading, and learning! Together we can.
