Hello!
My name is Reagan Day. I am the Assistant Band Director at Hal Peterson Middle School. I graduated from the University of North Texas (Denton) in 2023 with an undergraduate degree in Music Education. I have thirteen years of experience playing flute and ten years of experience with jazz bass. I performed with the Wyoming All-State Band (2016), All-Region Band in Texas, UNT Green Brigade (2019-2021), and UNT Concert ensembles (2020-2022).
In my free time, I enjoy all things outdoors. I spend my time hiking, gardening, collecting fossils, rockhounding, and traveling.
I grew up being a military brat and have lived all over the world. I was born in Pisa, Italy and moved around in Europe until 2011 when my family moved to Wyoming. There, I began playing flute and bass with the Laramie Junior High School band program and haven't slowed down in my musical ambition since.
As an educator, I strive to leave a lasting impression on students by being a positive role model, providing motivation, and growing connections with each individual by centering instruction on their needs and experience within the band program.
My aspiration to teach music comes from experience finding my identity and purpose in band. It is the encouragement and enthusiasm of my past band directors that caused me to love music, value progress, and pursue excellence in all endeavors. This is what I intend to provide for future generations, so that they may find their own passion for music and never stop aiming higher in their goals.
