Mrs. Rachel Butler
Tivy High School
Environmental Systems & Pre-AP Biology
The 2023-2024 school year will be my seventh year teaching, and ninth year with Kerrville ISD. I love science, and am excited to share that passion with this year's high schoolers.
I was born and raised in England, graduating with a BS (honors) in Field Biology & Habitat Management from Edge Hill University. I spent the first 12 years of my post-college years working in Crop Protection research & development and later business management. In 2007 the US Air Force took my family to North Dakota, and in 2010 brought us "home" to Texas. In 2014 we settled in the beautiful Hill Country and this is where I decided to go in to teaching, obtained a Master Degree in Education from Schreiner University and here I am!
I have taught 5th grade and 7th grade science, and now Freshman environmental systems and pre-AP biology.
When I am not teaching you will find me soaking up the Texan sun, walking, gardening and exploring places near and far with my husband, son (Tivy High School graduate class of 2023), our Golden Girl daughter, dog and bunny. We love traveling and have been very fortunate to have visited over 19 countries so far.
Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns that you may have.
