Welcome! My name is Daphne Morris and I will provide dyslexia services for students in grades 1-5.
My husband and I relocated from north Texas in 2017 to be closer to our families. We have four dogs at home who bring joy to our days and are treated more like children than pets.
This will be my third year as a Tally eagle. The administrative team is supportive and student-focused, which makes work enjoyable. Our teachers are top-notch and I learn from them every day. I am blessed to work with such a fine group of educators.
My twenty-five years in education have provided a broad level of adventure. I have a variety of elementary teaching experiences, served as District Reading Specialist in two districts, worked as an educational consultant, taught at the university level as an adjunct professor, and served in multiple administrative roles. I graduated with honors from the University of Houston with a Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies, which comprised of a dual major in reading and early childhood. I earned a Masters degree in Curriculum & Instruction, with a reading specialization, and a second M.Ed. degree in Administration & Supervision.
My greatest joy throughout my educational career has been sharing my passion for learning and creating lasting relationships with children and their families. For me, the most fulfilling job in the world is nurturing a child's growth in education and creating life-long learners. It is a privilege and honor to spend time with your family's most precious gift each day.
