Mrs. Candelaria Beltran

Hello.  This is my second year at Hal Peterson Middle School.  My husband and I moved to Kerrville three years ago and it was important to us that we build community here for ourselves.  Both my husband and I call El Paso, Texas home.  I love to cook and I love to dance.  I enjoy dancing to cumbias, corridas, and 80's music; but mostly I love dancing to country music with my husband.

I know that my students may be feeling a bit anxious about returning to school during this pandemic.  Please know that we will work through this together.  All adults on campus from administrators to teachers to custodians are doing everything possible to keep each one of you, as well as ourselves, safe.  Masks are mandatory. Also, we will take time during each class period to wash our hands and sanitize the supplies we use before the next class arrives.  Our learning in ELAR this year will consist of reading books/articles/passages from different genres and becoming effective at analyzing what we read in order to make educated contributions to discussions and written papers and projects. Be assured that I will always be available to facilitate your learning.  I want each of your to be successful! Welcome to the 2020-21 school year at HPMS.  I look forward to having you in my 8th grade ELAR class!!
