College and Career Readiness is working on Khan Academy digging into Personal Finance now and for the future to prepare for life after high school.

Investigating Careers is diving into programming with Code.org. Students are setting the stage by programming characters that dance. They’re learning programming terms as well.

Technology Applications (Tech Apps) is diving into programming with Scratch. Students learn to program by creating a game, this week a maze, that Scratch the cat navigates through without touching the maze lines. Students learn programming skills as well as programming terms.

Feel free to email me with any questions or students can ask questions in TEAMS.

On the left you will see a Virtual Learning Tab - This has instructions on how to access TEAMS and my virtual office hours, although I will be responding to email and post message frequently.

This is my fourth year teaching and my second career.  Previously, I worked at Southwest Research Institute (SwRI) in the Space Science and Engineering Division in San Antonio, TX, where I worked for 28 years.  SwRI is a research and development company that provides services in automotive & transportation, biomedical & health, chemistry & materials, defense & security, earth & space, electronics & automation, energy & environment, and manufacturing & construction.  My experiences at SwRI helped guide my passion to teach and promote STEM as a Career and Technical Educator (CTE).  With my experience in the workplace and as a CTE teacher, I am able to guide students as they explore and investigate careers, learn technology applications, and prepare for post-secondary and beyond with college and career readiness. I am also the Robotics coach at Hal Peterson.

I am a recent Kerrvile resident and I am truly enjoying hill country living.  I am a mother of two beautiful children, Martin - age 30, and Krystal - age 24, a grandmother to an adorable grandson - Baby Martin the 3rd, and I am blessed with a beautiful daughter-in-law, Rachel, who is an ELAR Teacher in the Comal ISD area.  During the school year, I tutor part-time (in the evenings) at Schreiner University and I am currently in school to obtain my second masters in education.  During the summer I like to travel and spend time with my family.
