This is my fifth year teaching and my second career. Previously, I worked at Southwest Research Institute (SwRI) in the Space Science and Engineering Division in San Antonio, TX, where I worked for 28 years. SwRI is a research and development company that provides services in automotive & transportation, biomedical & health, chemistry & materials, defense & security, earth & space, electronics & automation, energy & environment, and manufacturing & construction. My experiences at SwRI helped guide my passion to teach and promote STEM as a Career and Technical Educator (CTE). With my experience in the workplace and as a CTE teacher, I am able to guide students as they explore and investigate careers, learn technology, and prepare for post-secondary and beyond with high school credit courses and career focused curriculum. I am also the Robotics coach at Hal Peterson.
I am a recent Kerrvile resident and I am truly enjoying hill country living. I have an Associate of Arts in Information Technology, Bachelors of Science in Business, Masters in Curriculum and Instruction - Advanced Instructor, and a Masters in Educational Leadership. I am a mother of two beautiful children, Martin - age 30, and Krystal - age 24, a grandmother to an adorable grandson - Baby Martin the 3rd, and I am blessed with a beautiful daughter-in-law, Rachel, who is an ELAR Teacher in the Comal ISD area. During the school year, I tutor part-time (in the evenings) at Schreiner University. During the summer I like to travel and spend time with my family.
