Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Rachel Garrett

I am a sixth grade ELAR teacher at B.T. Wilson.  I hope to help my sixth graders become confident in their reading and writing abilities and develop a true love for the written word.  I earned a degree in English from UTSA and got my Master's Degree in Education from Schreiner University.    I have been teaching for twenty years and love what I do.  I believe in the potential for every chld to learn and grow so that they may reach their full potential.  I strive to facilitate this growth  and make decisions based on the best interests of each individual in my classroom.

When not teaching, I spend time with my husband Grant and  our two children Emily and Joseph.  Emily recently graduated from Trinity University in San Antonio, and Joseph will soon be starting his first year at UTSA.  We love to travel, camp, explore new places   around town and enjoy our three dogs Willow, Moose and Princess. When not with family, my favorite thing to do is read, and I always try to impart a love for reading to my students.
