I am currently in my 33rd year of education! I am blessed to be teaching at Hill Country High School, where I encourage each student working toward their own individual graduation plan. I oversee all the science curriculum as well as take personal responsibility enabling our students to pass the United States History End of Course exam. These tutorials are a highlight of my job!
I have a Bachelor's of Science degree from Michigan State University Honors College--go Spartans! My major was General Science, with a Biology minor. I am two courses shy of an additional minor in both Chemistry and Mathematics. Can you tell I love studying God's creation at its most basic level?
I began teaching Life Science to 7th grade students in Michigan. When we moved to Texas, I taught 8th grade Earth Science and PHYSICS! I came to LOVE physics-furthering my training in physics thru several Woodrow Wilson Fellowships and Physics Teachers Resource Agent (PTRA) trainings at Texas A&M University. I was selected for "Eyes in the Sky" and "Lift-Off" a total of 6 times, furthering my training in Astronomy and NASA's Space program.
Personally, I love serving our Lord. I am married to my high school sweetheart, Sam Fields, a local construction contractor. We have a growing family: our four children are all married with 12 grandchildren between them. I enjoy the challenge of training my horse Missy, and my Border Collie, Nyx. We raise goats on our small farm, and kidding season is a joy! Gardening, sewing, and reading are also enjoyable pastimes. My husband and I operate his construction company, SAMAJA Co, LLC.
