Degrees and Certifications:

Mr. Melvin Beyer

After retiring from the Naval Criminal Investive Service (NCIS) in 2007, I moved from the Washington DC/Virginia area to Kerrville, TX in 2010.  I started substitute teaching with KISD mainly at the Disciplinary Alternative School where I found a desire to help steer students to better decision making.  Thus, I became the full time paraprofessional for In School Suspension (ISS) at Hal Peterson Middle School in 2013.  I have an A.A. degree from Los Angeles Community College (Overseas Division) (Okinawa, Japan) with a major in Personnel Security.  I also have an A.A. degree from Northern Virginia Community College, Annandale, VA with a major in Physical Security.  Finally, I have a B.S. degree from George Mason University, Fairfax, VA with a major in Law Enforcement.  Along with my NCIS career, I served for several years as the sole person to grant/deny/and revoke all security clearances for Navy and Marine Corps personnel assigned to the President/Vice President of the United States, the White House/Camp David, as well as the crew and pilots for HMX-1 (the President's helicopter).  During my NCIS career, I also served 22 years as a sworn Reserve/Auxiliary Police Officer with the Fairfax County Police Department, Fairfax County, VA.  During that timeframe, I got the chance to see how wrong decisions result in consequences.

My life has been truly a blessing.  I look forward each day in helping our students make good decisions in Life.
