Hello!  My name is Ann Schroeder and I love teaching Second Grade!  When I am not at Nimitz, I spend time with my family.  I have been married to my husband since 1998 and have two wonderful children.  We also have dogs, cats, chickens, and a few cows!   

Remind
The way I send out weekly information is on the Remind app.  You can use a smart phone, your computer, or get normal texts.  This will be IMPORTANT to do soon.  Make sure when you sign up that you put the NAME of your child in parentheses, like this- Parent name (child's name).  Thank you for your help!  This is a great way to let me know if you are running late, bringing a forgotten jacket, water bottle, or lunch.  I will be sharing what we are doing during the year.  

Spelling Words
Your child will need to work on their spelling homework each week. On the homework sheet is a grid of choices to pick from for the spelling word homework.  I require that 3 grids are completed per week.  Parents will need to monitor their child so that this will be done each week and done correctly.

Reading Homework
I require 20 minutes of reading from a "good fit" book everyday.  Reading at home should be FUN and I want the kiddos to LOVE reading! You have, or will soon, receive a QR code personalized to your child.  Use it all year long to add to their reading minutes total.  There is a PRIZE for those that meet their goal!
