Dear Potential Student Council Candidate:
Congratulations on your decision to run for B.T. Wilson Student Council. We’ve got an exciting year ahead, and I’m looking forward to working with each of you.
This page contains everything you need to get your candidacy underway. The following are important dates for you to remember.
Tuesday, September. 13th: Mandatory meeting for students that plan to run for Student Council , in room 52 from 3:15 – 4:00
Friday, September 16th : All candidacy materials due to Ms. Weinheimer by 3:15 p.m. These include:
ðFiling Form (with parent signature)
ðShort statement about why you’re running
ðTeacher Recommendation Form (Can only be turned in by recommending teacher only)
Monday-Friday, September 19-23rd: Candidates can bring campaign posters and flyers to hang up around campus. Ms. Weinheimer must approve all posters and flyers before they can be posted. ALL candidacy materials listed above MUST be turned in to Ms. Weinheimer. See the Campaign Rules and Regulations for more information.
Friday, September 23rd: Candidates will present their speeches at the Election Assembly. Students will return to their Homeroom classes to vote for Student Council officers after the assembly.
Results of the election will not be announced until all campaign materials are removed and placed in recycle bins.
