Bus Eligibility

One or more of the following criteria must be met in order for a student to be bus eligible:

Any student that lives two or more miles from their assigned campus.
Any student that requires specialized transportation services and it is stated in their IEP. 
Student lives in a KISD board approved hazardous traffic area.
Student is to be transported to a Grandparents house as long as the house is two or more miles from the student’s assigned school.
Student is to be transported to a state recognized childcare facility as long as the childcare facility is two or more miles from the student’s assigned school.
NOTE: All out of district transfers are NOT bus eligible.

NOTE:  Students that choose to stay at their overflow school the following year are not bus eligible.

NOTE:  Overflow students that live under two miles from their zoned campus will be picked up and dropped off at their zoned campus.  Overflow students that live two or more miles from their zoned campus will be picked up and dropped off at the neighborhood bus stop.

NOTE:  All Kindergarten and T1 students are not allowed to be dropped off without a pre-approved adult (12 or older) waiting at the stop to receive the student.  The child's legal guardian must go to their campus to fill out the approval form before the student can ride the school bus.  The campus secretary will send the form to the Transportation Dept.
