Tally's College Can CHANGE Your Life is a student-led initiative that began during the 2019-2020 school year. The campaign is organized by the Fifth Grade GT Lunch Bunch and sponsored by the Challenge Lab teacher, Hunter Miller. It began as a way to expose Tally students to the importance of college and how it can truly CHANGE their lives. Lunch Bunch members research vocabulary terms related to college life, a variety of universities, and other options post high school graduation (trade schools, military options, etc.) and share the information on the announcements each Wednesday, which has been designated as College Day at Tally! 

On top of highlighting the importance of college, a scholarship fund was established by the group. Graduating Tivy High School seniors who attended Tally as an elementary schooler are eligible to apply. A committee reviews the applications and selects the finalists. The selected finalists come and share one of their essays with current third through fifth grade students and those students then vote for the finalist that they feel is most deserving of the scholarship. Due to the generosity of the Tally family, we have been able to award 24 $500 scholarships, and one $1000 to deserving Tivy graduates in the first four years of the program.
