CNA

CNA Certification

  • Tivy High School articulates with Alamo Colleges to provide senior health science students the opportunity to earn an industry-recognized certificate:  Certified Nursing Assistant.  These students complete DADs (Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services) training, which includes a minimum of 60 hours of classroom and 40 hours of clinical training.  Clinical experiences are through River Hills Health and Rehabilitation.  Once training is complete, students take the certification exam and upon successful completion, are granted the certificate to practice as CNAs across the state.  Several recent graduates are currently working as CNAs as they further their education in nursing.  This is a great opportunity for Tivy students and we look forward to expanding the certification options in the very near future.
