• I am very excited for the 2021-2022 school year

In 5th grade math there is a large amount of material to cover and we have to be very focused and progress at a steady pace in order to cover all of the content. We will be covering everything from adding and subtracting decimals to classifying quadrilaterals based on their properties. To help students learn the material,  it is important for them to do their homework. Typically there will be homework Monday through Thursday and the homework will consist of about 8 to 10 problems. The homework is designed for students to practice computations and problem solving. If your child is struggling with the homework, I have included a couple of resources below that are free and are very helpful.

Khan Academy: This is an amazing resource that has videos and practice problems.

Math is Fun: Another great resource that has step by step instructions, vocabulary, and practice

            problems.

Your child’s education is very important to me. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me by emailing me at scott.carlson@kerrvilleisd.net. I look forward to a wonderful year!
