Welcome to Ms. Burchers' Pre-AP Biology and AP Biology classes.  I want to take this opportunity to tell you a little bit about my background.  This is my eighth year teaching at Tivy High School.  I have a B.S. in Biology from Colorado State University and worked in an USDA research laboratory for ten years prior to becoming a teacher.  Previous research includes molecular characterization of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi on plants and immunohistology of ticks and biting flies that affect livestock.  I received my Masters in Education from Schreiner University prior to becoming a teacher at Tivy.  I am excited to teach my favorite subject and to get to know my students this year!
