In Kerrville ISD, teachers, administrators and staff are dedicated to providing a safe and secure environment for students. Because we live in a digital world, it has become second nature to instantly document, share, or comment on details about our daily lives on social media. While utilizing social media in a positive way can be beneficial, it can also create panic, concern, and anxiety for students, parents, and community members if used incorrectly. There are specific ways parents and community members can help ensure campus safety and positive classroom environments in KISD.
How can you report a safety concern?
Call the school
If you see questionable activity on social media, or anything suspicious in or around a school building, call the school directly to report a safety concern. In order to alleviate anxiety, you should not post the concern to social media to create more concern for our students, staff, and our parents. Find out the facts first!
Report a Concern Using the P3 Campus App
KISD has recently partnered with a Kerrville-based company to provide a seamless and efficient way for students, staff, and community members to offer information to help prevent tragedy and bring mental health needs to light. P3 Campus is an anonymous reporting tool that is monitored 24/7 to ensure that time-sensitive matters are dealt with promptly. P3 Campus can be used by anyone and KISD feels that joining this initiative will strengthen bonds between students and adults, identify subjects of social abuse, reveal emotional needs unmet, and prevent tragedy on both the personal and community level. P3 Campus can be downloaded from the Google Play Store for Android and in the App Store for Apple Devices or can be accessed on the web at www.p3campus.com.
What can you do at home?
Discuss the importance of social media responsibility with your child.
If your child reports that a drill took place on campus, take the opportunity to talk with your child about the importance of drills and other safety precautions while at school or in public.
Verify information before acting or spreading false information
If you have questions about a rumor or incident at a campus, please call the school or district officials to verify the information before acting.
What can you expect from KISD?
