    Early Childhood Center (Pre-K and Head Start) Registration and Back to School Information

    Kerrville ISD’s Early Childhood Center is now accepting applications for its Head Start and Pre-Kindergarten programs. Applications are available at the Early Childhood Campus located at 1011 Third Street. For more information, call 257-1335. These programs are open to age and income eligible children living in the Kerrville ISD attendance zone. Children must be 3 or 4 years old on or before September 1, 2020 and at least one of the following:

    -          Qualify for the school lunch program;

    -          Non-English speaking;

    -          McKinney-Vento Act;

    -          Active duty military; MIA/Injured or killed while on active duty;

    -          Foster care;

    -          In/was in conservatorship of TxDFPS;

    -          Qualified through the Special Education Department; or

    -          Receive SSI or TANF

    Students NEW to KISD will be registered July 30 & 31. Elementary students new to Kerrville will be registered at their home elementary school until the enrollment cap is reached.

    Elementary Meet the Teacher Events  

    Early Childhood Campus (Head Start/Pre-K)

    Pre-Kindergarten and Head Start Meet the Teacher: ECC teachers are going to schedule an individual 20-30 minute Meet the Teacher meeting with the parents of each of their students at the school on either Wednesday, Aug. 19 or Thursday, Aug. 20. 

     

    Elementary Campuses

    Meet the Teacher: Thursday, Aug. 20 

    Kinder - 5th: 

    Teachers will call between 9 a.m. - Noon on Thursday, Aug. 20 to introduce themselves to parents/families. At that time, teachers will get a good email address to send either a Zoom invite, video, or powerpoint to parents for a "virtual tour/introduction" to the classroom. This will be sent out between 5 - 6:30 p.m. 

    Kinder:

    When teachers call between 9 a.m. - Noon, in addition to getting a good email address, teachers will also schedule an in-person Meet the Teacher for a 15-20 minute block of time on Thursday, Aug. 20 between 1 - 6:30 p.m. 

    When coming to your Kinder's Meet the Teacher: 

    • Parent/guardian and Kinder student ONLY
    • No campus tours
    • Kinder room access only
    • Masks required
    • 3 families MAX at a time in the 15-20 minute blocks

    Registration for returning KISD students in grades 6-12 is done online. Once the online registration window opens, Log in to Skyward Family Access from the Kerrville ISD website, www.kerrvilleisd.net and click on Skyward under “quick links” or “helpful links” for more information on online registration. Instructions can be found in English and Spanish. PLEASE NOTE: THE ONLINE WINDOW WILL OPEN July 15 AND CLOSE July 22. 

    Secondary Before School Events

    B.T. Wilson 6th Grade School

       Wildcat Parent Camp – Introductory Video will be sent out to parents Sunday, August 9th to watch at their convenience. A zoom Q&A will be held on August 12th: 11:00 – 11:30a.m. for in person learning, 11:30 a.m. – 12:00 for virtual learning then repeated from 5:30-6:00 p.m. (in person learning) and 6:00-6:30 p.m. (virtual learning).

       Wildcat Night (Meet the Teacher) – Drive through schedule pick-up on Wednesday, August 19th from 4:30 – 6:00 p.m. at back parking lot. 

     Hal Peterson Middle School

     Online Enrollment for Returning Students July 15 - 22. 

     Deadline to Change Instruction Method for 1st Six Weeks is Friday, Aug. 7

     The Peterson Library will be open August 5 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. for parents who need to access a computer at school. A reminder with specific instructions will accompany final report cards.

     New Student Registration (for those NEW to KISD) 

     The Peterson Library will be open on August 5th from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. for parents who need to access a computer at school.

     

    Tivy High School

       Students NEW to the district can begin registering Aug. 3-5. Students NEW to the district and participating in a fall activity (athletics, band, etc.) can pick-up enrollment packets July 29 & 30. 

       The Tivy High School Office is open 8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m., 1:30 - 4:30 p.m. 

       Limited computer availability and assistance for online verification Aug. 3-7; please call ahead to make arrangements. 

       Online Verification Opens - Wednesday, July 15 and Closes July 22, July 27 - Aug. 7.
