I grew up in Kerrville and graduated from Tivy in 1985. This is my 33nd year of teaching and my 9th year here at Tivy. I also coached for 22 years, including volleyball, basketball, softball, track tennis and cross country.  I recently retired in 2020 but have returned in 2022 to take over as the Intro to Culinary & Education Pathway teacher, in which I will be teaching Human Growth and Development, Instructional and Practices Praticum & Introduction to Culinary Arts.   I believe that it is important that we all become involved in the education field as it is the backbone of our society and encouraging and molding those students who are interested is very important. I also feel that teens should be able to  understand the food service business and various foods and functions in a kitchen to be able to provide for themselves and others. Intro to Culinary will definitely get them started in the right direction.  I hope to make a real impact on my students' education so that they become productive and successful members of our local, national and international communities.
