Grandparent Picnic is coming! During the week of September 13th through 17th we will be learning about the letter “Gg”. On Friday, September 17th we would like grandparents to bring a picnic lunch to eat with their grandchild. Please feel free to use a “substitute grandparent” if your child’s grandparent cannot attend! You need to either order a sack lunch from the school cafeteria, or bring something to share with your grandchild. Sack lunches must be ordered by Friday Sept. 10th. The lunch period will be from 10:30-11:30 on the large playground area in the back of the school (The playground facing Coronado.) Things to remember for the Grandparent Picnic:

We
will be learning about different occupations. I would like for fathers
and mothers to come during the day and talk a little about their jobs.
(Just 5 or 10 minutes) I know this may be difficult, but if you are able
to come for a few minutes, that would be great. All occupations are welcome! |

Instead
of exchanging gifts as a class, we have decided to bring a gift
for
the classroom that we can all use, and then take home at the end
of the year. We
are asking that every child bring a puzzle to donate to the classroom for use
in centers, and during our Christmas activities. Puzzles are great learning
activities for the kids and can usually be found at the Dollar
Store or Wal-mart. We appreciate
all that you do to contribute to your child’s education. |
|
All the Kinder kids will be caroling in the cafeteria at about 8:05 and then moving on to our classrooms for a yummy brunch. Please have the children dress for the holiday in red and green, and remember your items for the brunch. |

Can you believe
we have been in school for 100 days! We will talk about 100’s all day. In preparation for 100’s day we will be making a giant 100’s chart. Each Kinder and Pre-K student will be in charge of making one number. Look for a construction paper square to come home so that you can be creative with your number. Some suggestions might be a snake for a six, pasta, Band-Aids, glitter, etc. We will also be doing a special math activity incorporating counting to 100. We are asking every student to send in 100 items, so that we can combine them, and then have the students practice sorting and counting to 100. Look for a note in your child’s folder letting you know what your item. Please send in your item by…. Monday January 24th! Thanks for helping us count our way to success! |
