(Kindergarten does not do a traditional report card the first six weeks, so the conference time is a time to find out how your child is doing and voice any specific questions that you may have about your child’s progress.

Grandparent’s Picnic:

Grandparent Picnic is coming!

During the week of September 13th through 17th we will be learning about the letter “Gg”. On Friday, September 17th we would like grandparents to bring a picnic lunch to eat with their grandchild. Please feel free to use a “substitute grandparent” if your child’s grandparent cannot attend!

You need to either order a sack lunch from the school cafeteria, or bring something to share with your grandchild. Sack lunches must be ordered by Friday Sept. 10th. The lunch period will be from 10:30-11:30 on the large playground area in the back of the school (The playground facing Coronado.)

Things to remember for the Grandparent Picnic:

  • Either bring a sack lunch or order one from the cafeteria by Friday Sept. 10th
  • If you would like to order your child a sack lunch from the cafeteria please send $1.25 in an envelope marked Grandparent Picnic, or sack lunch money. ** Please remember to put your child’s name on the envelope so that we don’t confuse the envelopes.
  • Bring a blanket to picnic on the grass or the concrete play area.
  • Come ready to have fun and celebrate!
Occupations: Parents Come and Share

We will be learning about different occupations. I would like for fathers and mothers to come during the day and talk a little about their jobs. (Just 5 or 10 minutes) I know this may be difficult, but if you are able to come for a few minutes, that would be great. All occupations are welcome!
We are dedicating Tuesday for our mother occupations and Wednesday for the Dads. We will work around your schedule. The only thing you need to remember is the lunch time (10:30-11:05) and their Specials (11:30-12:15). These are the only times the children are not in their room.
We look forward to hearing about all of your different jobs.

Guadalupe River Field Trip-Picnic/Riverside Nature Center:

We are asking that every child bring a puzzle to donate to the classroom for use in centers, and during our Christmas activities. We will also be doing a special math activity incorporating counting to 100. We are asking every student to send in 100 items, so that we can combine them, and then have the students practice sorting and counting to 100. Look for a note in your child’s folder letting you know what your item. Please send in your item by…. Monday January 24th! Thanks for helping us count our way to success!
