Starkey Parents!
The Starkey PTO works to provide additional funding and volunteers for some of the special activities at our great school. During this school year, Starkey PTO plans to:
- Fund rewards for the Accelerated Reader (AR) program
- Coordinate classroom holiday parties
- Design and sell Starkey T-Shirts and sweatshirts
- Provide staff appreciation activities for teachers, aides, and staff
- Print and sell the Starkey Student Directory
- Sponsor a reading incentive program and raise funds for our library
- Provide birthday cake once a month during lunch
- Host the annual Book Fair
- Assist with school pictures, Ident-a-Kid, hearing/vision screenings, and Field Day
- Help students collect canned goods, jackets, and blankets for a local charity
- Provide funds for TAKS snacks, Field Day, and Reading Celebration Day
- Collect and redeem Box Tops for Education coupons
- Purchase additional equipment for the school.
Our primary fundraiser is the Annual Sausage Supper, scheduled for March
5, 2009. This is a major event, and we welcome and encourage your involvement.
All Starkey parents are invited to our PTO meetings to learn more about these activities and to get involved with PTO.
Our meetings are held the second Tuesday of the month at
9:30 a.m. in the library. Please sign-in at the office.
