Early Childhood Center (Pre-K and Head Start) - 1011 Third Street, 257-1335
Kerrville ISD’s Early Childhood Center is now accepting applications for its Head Start and Pre-Kindergarten programs. Applications are available at the Early Childhood Campus located at 1011 Third Street. For more information call 257-1335. These programs are open to age and income eligible children living in the Kerrville ISD attendance zone. Children must be 3 or 4 years old on or before September 1, 2016 and at least one of the following:
Early Childhood Dates to Remember:
- Qualify for the school lunch program;
- Non-English speaking;
- Active duty military; MIA/Injured or killed while on active duty;
- Foster care;
- In/was in conservatorship of TxDFPS;
- Identified as developmentally delayed; or
- Receive SSI or TANF
Parents of students enrolled in Head Start need to call the school office on August 3rd or 4th to confirm attendance. The parents of students pre-approved for the Pre-K program must schedule a re-verification appointment for August 3rd or 4th to fill out new Child Nutrition forms. The office will be open from 7:30 am - 12 noon and from 12:30-5 pm Monday through Thursday.

- Pre-K - 2 pm - 4 pm
Students New to KISD in 2016-2017
Students new to a KISD attendance zone will be registered beginning Monday, August 8. Students new to Kerrville will be registered at their home elementary school until the enrollment cap is reached.
To determine which school your child will attend, call any elementary campus or Central Administration at 257-2200 for assistance. Maps illustrating the attendance zones are available at www.kerrvilleisd.net under the departments, then transportation tab.
Kerrville ISD currently accepts inter-district transfers. For the 2016-2017 school year the tuition fee for transfers is $400 per year for a family. Transfers are granted on a yearly basis. Visit the web address above for more information or to download the transfer form.
Elementary Attendance Confirmations August 2nd and 3rd
Parents must call or visit their child’s school on August 2nd or 3rd to confirm attendance at that school. If attendance is not confirmed at this time, the pre-registration will be pulled and the child may lose their spot at that campus.
