Resolution

A resolution of the Board of Trustees of the Kerrville Independent
School District establishing eSlate and/or eScan Voting System for in-person voting on Election Day and during early voting by personal appearance and the Ballot Now System for early voting by mail.

WHEREAS, Kerrville Independent School District has used the Optical Scan Electronic Voting System the past few year for Board of Trustees elections; and,

WHEREAS, Kerrville ISD will be using the new voting system purchased by Kerr County, Texas that is in compliance with the Help America Vote Act, Section 301(a)(3)(B).  The new system owned by Kerr County will be used for all future Kerrville ISD Board of Trustees elections; and,

WHEREAS, the Kerr County Clerk’s office will be taking action to notify the community that a new voting system will be used for all future elections and will be giving demonstrations and mock elections prior to the next election; and,

WHEREAS, the Kerr County Clerk will also be hosting an event in January 2006 where leaders from our local city and school districts will be invited to view the new voting system and take back promotional material that can be shared with the citizens of their respective communities.  All promotional materials will be printed in both English and Spanish; and,

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF KERRVILLE INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT;

THAT the Kerrville I.S.D. official voting system for future elections shall be the eSlate and/or eScan Voting System for in-person voting on Election Day and during early voting by personal appearance, and the Ballot Now System for early voting by mail.  All three systems (integrated together are known as the “Hart’s Voting System”) and products of Hart Intercivic.
