KISD Board Approves 2010 - 2011 Budget.

budgetcover_web10.jpgThe Kerrville Independent School District School Board of Trustees unanimously approved the 2010-2011 budget.

The highlights of the $36.5 million budget include an average salary increase for teachers of $1,500 and a targeted midpoint salary increase of 3.04% for all KISD employees.  KISD will continue the tax rate of $1.03 for Maintenance & Operations and $0.15 for Interest & Sinking for a combined rate of $1.18.  This is the same rate adopted in the 2009-2010 school year.

Says KISD Superintendent, Dr. Dan Troxell, “We are very proud of this budget.  While a majority of school districts across Texas face deficits and are forced to raise taxes or dip into their reserves, KISD is able to offer raises without any tax rate increase to our residents.  This is very good news for our school family members and entire community in these tough economic times. Our Chief Financial Officer Bill Orr and his staff are highly credited for constructing a sound and solid budget.”
