FCAC shares proposed school calendar for upcoming year.
Proposed 2010-2011 District Calendar Now Available
A sub-committee of the Kerrville ISD Faculty Community Advisory Committee (FCAC) unveiled the proposed 2010-2011 district calendar at their October 28th meeting. The sub-committee followed the legal requirements and local input while developing the calendar. The following highlight some of the legal requirements the sub-committee had to consider: School must begin the fourth Monday in August; the calendar must include 177 days of instruction and 10 days of staff development; there must be two bad weather days.
Local input included: Equal grading periods; ending the 1st semester before the Winter Break; providing two weeks for Winter Break; providing one week for Spring Break; ending grading periods on Fridays; providing a day off on Good Friday; providing a Friday graduation and end-of-year faculty celebration.
