Stadium Bond Passed

 

Kerrville voters Saturday approved the 2013 Antler Stadium bond. The bond passed with 761 for votes. Kerrville ISD appreciates the support of all voters in Kerrville. More information on the renovations to Antler Stadium will be announced as it becomes available.

 Title I, Part A
Title I, Part A Distinguished Schools Announced

 

Kerrville ISD today announced that Nimitz, Tally, and Daniels Elementary Schools, as well as Hal Peterson Middle School, have been named Title I, Part A State Distinguished Schools by the Texas Education Agency. Only 23 schools in Region 20 received this award, and Hal Peterson is the only middle school in the region to receive this award for the second consecutive year.

The Texas Education Agency's Title I, Distinguished Schools prestigious designation recognizes schools that have consistently demonstrated strong academic performances over a three-year period.  All of these Title I, Part A schools achieved the Exemplary rating for the present school year and have a residing population of 40% or more low income students.

“I’m extremely proud of all our campuses that achieved this rating,” said Laurie Gagne, Senior Director of Special Education. “Our teachers and staff work hard all year, and it’s nice to receive recognition for that work.”

 UIL
Tivy Students Compete at District UIL Competition

 

The Tivy High School UIL team competed at a district competition on March 21st and 23rd. Students competed against schools in Tivy’s regular district area. Several students and teams will now compete at the Regional competition, being held Saturday, April 20th at UTSA in San Antonio.

The top three individuals and the top team in each event advance to the regional level. Tivy Teams advancing are Calculator – PJ Bowie, Ray Chavez, Kirk Hodel and Tres Popp; Computer Science – PJ Bowie, Kirk Hodel, Christopher Lear and Tres Popp; Mathematics – PJ Bowie, Marisela Castro, Kirk Hodel and Tres Popp; and Number Sense – Kirk Hodel, PJ Bowie, Jay Lockwood and Tres Popp.
In the science category, Tres Popp won 1st overall and the Top Physics award.

Other top competitors advancing to regionals are: - Claire Starks and Gage Arbogast in Debate, both with 3rd place wins; Hannah McCullough in Editorial Writing, 3rd place; and Cooper Rendon in Persuasive, 2nd place. The Speech Team also advances with a 2nd place win.

Informative – Kim McGuffin (4th), Sealey McMurray and Emily Peters.
LD Debate – McKenzie Maxwell and Monty McKeon.
Literary Criticism – Clara Keen, Bryce Real and Danielle Snow.
News Writing – Hannah McCullough, Emma McCormick and Carissa Tinley.
Persuasive – Kate Jones-Waddell.
Poetry – Lindsey Ivey and Emma Hamilton.
Prose – Samantha Faust, Christianna Snyder and Bryanna White.
Ready Writing – Shirley Dixon, Hannah McCullough (6th) and Ally Smith.
Science – PJ Bowie, Ray Chavez, Katie McCarty, Kirk Hodel, and Jay Lockwood.
Spelling – Christianna Snyder, Marisela Castro, Elyssa Danielson and Mason Phillips.
Social Studies – Elyssa Danielson, Joy Gonzalez, Katie McCarty and Mason Phillips.
One Act Play – PJ Bowie, Marisela Castro, Kayla Chatagnier, Brian Choi (All Star), Faith Danielson, Kendall Dyal, Melanie Fabricatore, Will Ferris, Logan Frasier, Joylenn Gonzalez, Haydn Mobley, Jaydea Houser, Kate Jones-Waddell, Ryan Long, Alex Martiez, Eva Messer, Bryce Real (Honorable Mention), Macy Rhodes (All Star), Parker Rhodes, Amanda Segura, Taylor Sparkman and Mason Tuck (Honorable Mention).
