2011 - 2012
The mission of the KISD Transportation Department is to provide safe, efficient and caring transportation for all school children.
Everyday at Transportation:
Transportation maintains a fleet of more than 40 buses.
The Transportation team manages getting children to and from school, scheduling extra-curricular activities, handling special needs students, and keeping the buses running on time.
From 5:30am when the crew fires up the buses to begin the daily routes, until the last bus rolls into the yard at 5:30 pm, Transportation is on duty. Weekends mean having up to nine buses on the road taking kids to athletic events, UIL and band contests.

Transportation exemplifies how far KISD goes to provide safe, quality education for our children.
Transportation Department Places 1st in Parade
Filled with the holiday spirit, KISD’s Transportation Department entered the Kerrville Lighted Holiday Parade. Volunteering hours after work and all the materials, the staff spent three weeks building their Candyland Christmas float. Featuring over 9,000 lights and lots of structured sweets, the float won 1st place in the non-profit category.
Congratulations!
