We have made some changes to how we offer staff development this year. We are offering an entirely new catalog section in eduphoria! Workshop for eCourses!
eCourses are courses you can take online, at your own pace, and from any location that has an Internet connection. We are offering courses that include the mandatory start of school trainings that all staff must attend each year; as well as, several opportunities for receiving earned-off credit.
Our trainings include interactive activities such as quizzes, reflective journaling, lesson-planning, and participating in online media sharing.
Check out the catalog and sign up for the courses in eduphoria! soon.
| EARNED-OFF DATES 2012-2013 |
Summer staff development takes place during June 4-August 20 and is a time not only to learn new skills for your profession but also provides the opportunity to receive time to use for two scheduled Earned-Off dates. These dates will occur on November 21, 2012, and June 4, 2013.
Earned-Off credit is based on the amount of time that a scheduled staff development day uses. For example, a 1/2 day session that goes for 3 hours of time will usually only count for .5 Earned-Off credits. A full day session that lasts for 6 hours will count for 1 Earned-Off credit.
In the case of eCourses, we determined the amount of time it would take to complete the entire eCourse including the follow-through activities to decide how much credit to offer. We also consider time spent viewing Atomic Learning technology training videos could count time for time - with 3 hours viewing time counting for .5 Earned-Off credits and a 6 hour viewing time counting for 1 Earned Off credit.
Using eCourses and Atomic Learning requires the use of your individual login to allow it to track your progress. So it is VERY important for you to use your own login and password to access these resources if you choose to use them to receive credit.
Quick Reference:
| Time spent in Activity | Earned-Off credit awarded |
| 3 hours | .5 or 1/2 credit |
| 6 hours | 1 full credit |
