The Vision of the Special Education Program is to support the intellectual, academic, linguistic, social, emotional, and physical development of ALL students to their full educational potential. It is the responsibility of ALL members of the educational community to provide appropriate services to students with disabilities that promote maximum access to opportunities for their individual development, future employment and independent living. The ultimate goal of service delivery for students with disabilities is their inclusion and participation in the general education program when it meets the identified needs of that student.
The philosophy of the delivery of services to students with disabilities is individually focused. It recognizes learning differences and promotes the development of students by challenging them to grow to their maximum potential through participation in the entire life of the school.
Appropriate assessment, curriculum, and instruction are provided and modified, as needed, to support the continuous progress of each student with disabilities toward explicit goals set forth in the individual educational plan (I.E.P.).
Our Special Education staff shares the vision of a unified educational system which reflects the shared responsibility for the education of EVERY student. It allows for the full array of services and settings for ALL students by recognizing and protecting individual strengths and addressing individual strengths and addressing individual needs.
