FAST Fingerprint Information:

In order to be fingerprinted, you MUST take the "FAST Fingerprint Pass Form" to your appointment. You CANNOT be fingerprinted without a FAST Fingerprint Pass.

Your FAST Fingerprint Pass is emailed to you directly from SBEC as an attachment in an email. You MUST PRINT the FAST Fingerprint Pass at least 24 hours before your Fingerprinting appointment.

Name Change Requests:

To update your name in the SBEC Online System and to have the change reflected on the "Official Record of Educator Certificates" online, you must submit a written request via email using the SBEC website.

1) Go to http://www.sbec.state.tx.us

2) From the home page, select "Email SBEC" (which is at the very bottom of the screen) then select the name change option which reads "IF your name has changed and you wish the name change to be reflected on your Official Record of Educator Certificate, Click Here". Or you can simply click on this link to the direct page for changing your name.

3) Please provide your date of birth, previous name, and new name in your email.

Please note: Only the FIRST and LAST names in the SBEC Online system need to match your state issued driver's license or state issued ID Card in order to be fingerprinted.

There is no charge to request a name change, but if you wish to receive a duplicate of your certificate reflecting the name change, an online application and $47.00 is required.
