Tivy High School Holds Pre-Registration for 2007-2008 School Year |
Tivy High School will start the pre-registration process for the 2007-2008 school year on Wednesday, February 7, 2007. At that time students will be receiving the course description handbook, their course selection sheets and a letter to the students and parents explaining the pre-registration process. Parents are encouraged to ask their student about this information and review the course description handbook and offerings. For parents or students with any questions, there will be a parent meeting on Thursday February 8 at 6:00 in the Tivy High School Theatre. Parents and students are encouraged to attend to ask questions and meet with their counselor. All high school counselors will be on hand to answer any questions. Following the meeting will be an opportunity for parents of Advance Placement students to visit with each core department and receive information about the AP courses, advantages of AP, course expectations and summer assignments. On Monday, February 12, the counselors will begin the pre-registration process through the student’s history class. All counselors will meet with their students to review four year plans, graduation plan, credits earned, credits and classes needed to graduate, summer school information, credit by exam information, and confirm their course selections with the students. Students should be prepared at this time with their course selection sheet and any teacher approval needed for advanced classes. If a student is absent the day the counselors visit his/her history class, they will be called down at a later time to do their pre-registration. The process will end on March 9. On March 26, verification letters will be given to all students for parents and students to verify the course selections for the 2007-2008 school year are correct. If any changes are to be made, they are to be noted on that letter. All verification letters, regardless of changes or not, should be returned to the counselor’s office no later than March 30. Pre-registration for the incoming ninth grade will start in March and more information will follow.
