Cecil Atkission Motors Sponsors iPod And Laptop Giveaway At Peterson

Kerrville – Cecil Atkission Motors sponsored the third 6 weeks iPOD® giveaway as well as the end of semester grand prize drawing of a HP® laptop computer, printer and case.  This new program, created in August, was formed by the Hal Peterson PTO to reward students who work hard, stay in school and make good grades. 

The final drawing of the first semester took place Friday, January 12, at Peterson Middle School.  Over 300 students qualified for the iPOD drawing, but the lucky winner was Megan Bingham, an eighth grader.  The computer drawing included all previous six weeks’ drawing entries.  Over 1100 students qualified for the drawing, but the winner was Austin Fine, a seventh grader.  Sharon Mock, principal at Peterson, was there to present Bingham and Fine with the new iPOD and computer.

Underwritten by Cecil Atkission Motors, the program is designed to encourage and reward attendance, academic achievement and good behavior. At the end of each six week grading period, all students who have achieved A honor roll, A/B honor roll or perfect attendance (with all grades of 70 or higher), and no office referrals will be entered into a drawing to win a 30 GB iPod.  At the end of the semester, all previous drawing entries who have had no office referrals are pooled to draw for the grand prize – a HP® laptop computer, printer and case.  This same program will be repeated in the second semester, culminating again with a drawing for a second laptop computer, printer and case.
