Senate Bill 3092, sponsored by State Representative Harvey Hilderbran (District 53 on behalf of KISD), passed the Senate unanimously today. The bill previously passed in the Texas House of Representatives. House Bill 3092 amends the Education Code so that students confined by a court order to a residential facility, such as the Kerr County Juvenile Detention Center, will not be counted against the local school district Texas Education Agency accountability rating. House Bill 3092 will ensure that only Kerrville student residents will impact the Kerrville Independent School District and Tivy High School accountability ratings. The new statute takes effect immediately. For more information visit Texas Legislature On-Line: http://www.capitol.state.tx.us/tlodocs/80R/billtext/html/HB03092S.HTM
