Tivy High School to Host a Reception Honoring Legendary Basketball Coach Jim Reid

Tivy High School will host a reception honoring legendary basketball Coach JIM REID who coached Tivy High School to two (2) State Basketball Championships in 1969 and 1970, followed by two (2) ADDITIONAL state championships in 1971 at Dumas High School and 1990 at Ingram High School.  The reception will be held Tuesday, Feb. 13th following the Tivy boys basketball game vs. Alamo Heights which starts at 7:00 p.m.  There will be a brief pre-game ceremony hosted by the Booster Club in honor of Coach Reid, with a reception immediately following the basketball game.  All 4 state championship trophies will be displayed and refreshments will be served to all who attend. 

If you PLAYED for Coach Reid, if you were a FAN of Coach Reid, if you are a FRIEND of Coach Reid, or if you would like to MEET this legendary coach, please come and help us honor this very special gentleman who has contributed so much to Tivy High School; Texas basketball; and generations of young people who have who have been fortunate enough to be taught by him.

Once again, that’s Tuesday, Feb. 13th following the Tivy Boy’s Basketball game at Antler Gymnasium.  Game time is 7:00. 

ADDITIONAL INFO:   Coach Reid was inducted into the Texas High School Basketball Hall of Fame in 1996.
