Contact: Ellen Williams, 257-2200

Kerrville ISD will host the regional competition of Destination ImagiNation at B.T. Wilson 6th grade campus on Saturday, March 3. More than 75 teams are expected to compete on one of five Team Challenges that inspire students to use their creative and critical thinking skills to solve problems.

Teams of five to seven students work together from all fall to prepare for this event. Each Team Challenge is designed to be open-ended and solvable in many ways and on many levels. The teams are judged according on the ways they address the problem and the creative ways they solve it. Younger students are able to participate as well in the one non-competitive Team Challenge, called the Rising Stars Team Challenge, for preschool and early elementary aged children.

Kerrville teams include three teams from B.T. Wilson 6th grade campus and two teams from Tivy High School.

The community is invited to attend the competition and support our local participants from 8:30 AM -5 PM. The award ceremony will be at Tivy High School Gym at 7 PM.  For additional information on the internet about Destination ImagiNation, go to: http://www.idodi.org/what.html.
