"I am thrilled to be a part of
the mentoring program in KISD. I am fortunate to have grown
up in Kerrville and benefited from many informal mentoring
relationships. As the youngest daughter of Fred and Jean
Tally, both KISD educators, I had a wonderful opportunity
to grow up with many family friends who provided me with
guidance along my way. Many important teachers, my tennis
coaches and other educators in the schools my parents led,
have played a large role in my commitment to the mentoring
program.
Where would I be without these important adults? Today, many kids grow up moving
from place to place, without opportunities to form relationships like the ones
I was so blessed to have. As a mentor, you can be matched with a child who needs
you because his or her life doesn‚t naturally hold the guides to grow by
that many of ours held. I encourage you to learn more about KISD‚s Mentoring
Program and join me in helping a child succeed." |
