Hill Country High School is operated by the Kerrville Independent School District to serve the educational needs of KISD students in a non-traditional setting. HCHS is a school of choice, not a disciplinary campus. Hill Country High School is designed to serve students who are self-motivated, willing to follow rules and procedures, and require no disciplinary action.

Hill Country High School provides a family-like setting. A professional staff of certified teachers and a counselor work with students to provide a personal education experience. Teen parents have child-care services available through the Tivy child Development Center.
The learning program utilized at HCHS allows students to progress at their own rate, using computer-assisted technology, textbooks and one-to-one or small group teacher directed activities. Academic courses may not include all electives or upper level courses offered at other schools.
Students who complete the requirements will receive a State of Texas High School Diploma.
