Course outline:
The curriculum in Social Studies Class this year covers virtually the entire world. In our travels around the globe, students will learn about the geography, history, and currents events of each region.
Students will be required to read and study materials both in class and at home. Each student is issued a textbook that will remain at home to be used for homework. Students experiencing difficulty with work should contact their teachers and come in for extra help.
Department goals:
The B.T. Wilson Social Studies Department strives to improve each year. Our goals for 2003 are as follows:
The department will work to become familiar with the new textbook and its ancillary materials.
The department will help organize and carry out a career night in the spring.
The department will continue to develop and implement lessons appropriate for all levels of learners.
The department will conduct the annual Geography Bee in January.
